Barbie A Cultural Icon Exhibiton

Douglas was hired by Tim Clothier (CEO of Illusion Projects), who was working in partnership with Mattel, Inc., as Graphic Designer / Creative Consultant for the Barbie® A Cultural Icon Exhibition at The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas.

As Creative Consultant, Douglas worked with Tim Clothier to design the exhibition logo and the timeline concept which would be the basis of the exhibit itself. The timeline was featured prominently in the four-page sales brochure that was created to pitch various museums and venues around the country for this unique exhibition.

As Graphic Designer, Douglas also created a 16-page exhibition overview booklet that went into further detail about the actual dolls that would on display in the exhibition. Working with Tim and Mattel, Douglas created the template that would be used for the name plates for each doll, created various renderings for the graphics and stickers that would be featured on the façade of the venue, created the graphics for the entrance on the private elevator to the exhibition, and designed the business cards for key executives and staff members.

“Thanks for your hard work on bringing this project to reality. I know our entire team has put in a large amount of work into this exhibition and I’m truly grateful for everything that you have contributed. Phase 1 is done – I know we have many more plans for continuing to expand, refine and improve what you’ve helped to create. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for being on the team.”

– Tim Clothier, President and CEO of Illusion Projects
