YouTube Space LA Show presents: Magic Night

This past week, the show that I am currently the guest act here in Las Vegas, MURRAY: Celebrity Magician (who has been blowing up on the internet over the last 10 months with over 350 million views) was invited to bring the show to YouTube Space LA for one night. The facility hosts two to four events a month and it’s for all their collaborators, creators and YouTubers who are approved by YouTube. Once accepted, everything is free to use at the Space: studios, equipment, offices and events. The event was titled, “Magic Night” and not only featured Murray’s full evening show, but me doing my card manipulation act, as well as, his lead assistant April Leopardi do her epic pole routine, and Rock DeMarco (one of the world’s greatest performance painters direct from Orlando, Florida) who painted two different paintings that were raffled off to the guests. One of the YouTube staffers stated that our show was the most attended event they have produced in their facility with a sell out crowd of over 500 people!

Formerly the Howard Hughes Airport, YouTube Space LA is located in the Playa Vista area of Los Angeles and covers nearly 41,000 square feet. YouTube Space LA contains large production stages, green screens, cameras, lights, sound gear, electrical and grip equipment. We also offer post-production resources ranging from private editing suites to voice-over recording booths. It’s all available at no charge if your channel has at least 10,000 subscribers.

YouTube Space LA offers resources for creators of all levels. But those with at least 10,000 subscribers can access our state-of-the-art production resources to help them create their next great video…all at no charge.

Unlock the Space is an orientation that gives creators the necessary tools to make the most out of every YouTube Space production. The first step is an online training covering our policies, booking procedures, overview of resources, and copyright training. The online training takes about an hour to complete. The second step is a live session that expands on the online training and includes a facility tour. Up to two team members from your channel can participate in the live session. Only primary channel owners and lead producers need to attend live session. Lastly, after completing both steps of Unlock the Space, you will be issued a Master Use Agreement for your signature. The “MUA” is the formal agreement creators make with Google in order to utilize a YouTube Space.

We’re often asked “What’s the catch?” There isn’t one! Participating channels retain all their ownership of content, monetization, and creative control.

That said, we take matters of copyright and YouTube’s Community Guidelines seriously. Therefore, every video produced at YouTube Space LA must pass through a legal clearance review prior to publishing. Only projects that are free and clear of copyright claims and meet our Community Guidelines pass this review. Apply to Unlock the Space only if you believe your content will meet these guidelines. We do spend a good amount of time on this subject during Unlock the Space to help you better understand these topics.
